Annually, HBA awards three prizes for books on British art in the following categories: pre-1800, post-1800, and multi-authored book.

The Historians of British Art Travel Grant is designated for a graduate student member of HBA who will be presenting a paper on British visual culture at an academic conference. The award of $750 (intended to offset travel costs) will be announced for use during the upcoming calendar year. To apply, send a letter of request, a copy of the letter of acceptance from the organizer of the conference session, an abstract of the paper to be presented, a budget of estimated expenses (noting what items may be covered by other resources), and a CV to Renate Dohmen, HBA Prize Committee Chair, at London7806@aol.com.
The 2016 deadline is September 15, 2015, with notification to the winner by October 15, 2015.
Historians of British Art invites applications for its Publication Grant. The organization grants a sum of $600 to offset publication costs for a book manuscript in the field of British art or visual culture that has been accepted by a publisher. Applicants must be current members of HBA.
